First off, congratulations! Getting engaged is a monumental milestone and the beginning of an incredible journey toward your wedding day and the rest of your life together. 1. Celebrate the Moment

Before diving into planning, take a moment to truly savour this special time in your life. Being newly engaged is a once-in-a-lifetime experience, and it’s worth celebrating! Stay here for as long as you want to - enjoy it!

  • Pop open a bottle of bubbly. Whether it’s champagne or your favourite sparkling alternative, cheers to the beginning of your engagement journey.

  • Gather your loved ones. Host a party to share the exciting news, or keep it low-key with an intimate dinner with family and friends.

  • Make it about you. Even if it’s just the two of you raising a glass in your living room, make time to reflect on this special milestone. Let the joy of the moment sink in before diving into the details of wedding planning.

    2. Create a “Must-Haves” List

When you feel ready, it’s time to sit down together and think about your wedding vision. This step will set the tone for everything to come. It's time to talk about your ideas for the wedding day!

  • Discuss your priorities. What’s most important to each of you? Is it a seaside venue, a small guest list, or a specific wedding photographer? Identifying your non-negotiables will help you stay focused.

  • Find common ground. Use this as an opportunity to align your expectations and figure out where you’re willing to compromise. Remember, this is about celebrating your love as a couple!

  • Dream big but stay realistic. A clear idea of what you both want will make decisions easier as you move forward.

3. Set a Budget

Planning a wedding can be exciting, but it can also get overwhelming if you don’t have a clear budget in place. Starting with your financial plan, identify a realistic budget and sticking with it will save you stress down the line.

  • Establish your total budget. Consider contributions from family, your savings, or any other resources you’ll use to fund your celebration.

  • Break it down. Divide your budget into categories such as venue, catering, attire, and entertainment. This will help you allocate funds wisely.

  • Stick to it. A well-defined budget allows you to make informed decisions and keeps financial stress at bay, ensuring the planning process remains enjoyable.
